About

Aloha, Love!

ashleyweltonlakeauthorphoto-1-2.jpg

Welcome to my digital doorstep, I'm Ashley or Ash, depends who's calling. Born and raised on Hawai'i island, I'm a multi-faceted creative whose ride-or-die will always be the written word.

For nearly a decade, I wrote for travel magazines and ran a successful copywriting business doing my best to bring soul into online sales. But, no matter how I dressed it up, it didn’t make my heart sing. So, I walked away to pen a novel (then another one) and, for a couple of years, worked as an eco-tour guide for one of the best companies in Hawai’i, slinging stories the old fashioned way.

Today, I write love stories with a strong sense of place and relatable characters, often touching on themes of self-discovery, the natural world, and finding joy amidst this wild and rigorous human experience.

You can find me barefoot on the forested slopes of Hualalai with my woodworker husband, two rescue pups, and a feral cat who likes to cuddle (but only sometimes).

I hold one tenet dear:

be kind, and make it beautiful.

I cut my teeth during the early days of blogging and have always loved the format. Today, I write essays and articles about nature, life, and the tiny wonders I find beautiful.
